Kinky Beach Festival is the moment when Insomnia moves its energy to the shore: a full day of techno, trance and psy sounds, performances, play spaces and kinky market right by the Spree.

Kinky Beach Festival takes everything Insomnia is known for, ecstatic music, sex-positive play, performance and a proudly mixed crowd, and stretches it across a long Sunday at Sage Beach. Instead of a dark indoor maze, you get river breeze, sand, art installations and a stage where party, art and kink bleed into each other from afternoon to deep night.

The first 2026 edition on 31 May pulled hundreds of people into this temporary shoreline micro-universe. The crew is now tuning the next chapter for the end of August.

The location: Sage Beach

Sage Beach is one of Berlin's rare open-air spots where the Spree actually feels like part of the party. Wooden decks, a proper sandy stretch, trees, sculptures and industrial backdrops give the festival a setting that feels more like a small urban island than a standard club terrace.

It is exactly the kind of place where the lines between "we are at a rave", "we are at an art thing" and "we are in a hedonistic summer camp" blur. During Kinky Beach, that blur is intentional: daylight for cruising glances, golden hour for rope and fire shows, night for full-scale dance floor catharsis.

Address: Sage Beach, Köpenicker Straße 18 to 20, 10997 Berlin Kreuzberg.

Music: open air and underground

Across the day and night you get several sonic worlds. An outdoor techno and euro trance floor sits on the sand. An indoor floor carries psy and techno from evening deep into the night. A silent disco bridges the late hours.

The line-up draws from the Insomnia universe and adjacent scenes. The idea is less headline drop, more continuous wave: music as the spine that holds together market, workshops, play spaces and conversations.

Kinky market and cultural programme

Kinky Beach is not only a dance event. It is also a small festival of sex-positive culture. A kinky market brings together fetish designers, jewellery makers, rope artists, bodyworkers and other vendors whose work usually lives in backrooms or online shops.

Across the day you can watch fire shows and live performances, drop into workshops and talks ranging from rope basics to stand-up comedy, listen to a live podcast recording, join a cuddling session with a sexological bodyworker, and explore love lounges and small play areas scattered across the site.

The effect is a shifting rhythm: dance, watch, learn, flirt, play, rest, repeat. For many guests, the market and side programme become as important as the main floor.

The festival is explicit about consent culture. A trained awareness team is present on site, clearly named as the place to go if you experience or witness boundary-crossing, confusion or harassment.

Core rules include: if you want to talk, dance or play with someone, you ask first and respect the answer. Give people space when they are playing or intimate. If you want to join, ask and accept a no without negotiation. Phone cameras are covered on site. A no is final, and crossing it has consequences.

Dresscode is kinky, fetish, beachwear. That can mean latex, leather, mesh, harnesses, lingerie or your own surreal summer look, as long as it signals that you are here for this kind of space.

UNLEASHED combo ticket

The night before the festival, Insomnia hosts the UNLEASHED pre-party. A combo ticket gives you access to both: a full night at Insomnia Club followed by direct entry to Kinky Beach the next afternoon, with a bracelet that skips the queue and the ticket scan.

Two events, one ticket, one weekend arc. For many regulars, the combo is the standard way to experience the festival.

Why it belongs on the Berlin Kink Calendar

The Berlin Kink Calendar tracks not only clubs and dungeons, but also the festival formats where Berlin's kink, rave and sex-positive worlds meet.

Kinky Beach Festival is one of the clearest examples: Insomnia's nightlife lineage poured into a riverfront open air with a visible awareness structure and a deliberately mixed programme.

For Sex Searchers, it offers a specific promise. You can dance, cruise and play in one place, with enough daylight to actually see who you are connecting with and enough infrastructure that kinky does not have to mean unsafe or hidden.

Before you mark your calendar: always double-check dates, location, and ticket info directly with the organizers.
Even the best promises come with fine print.
