Two dirty story hours and a smutty little festival.
Most sex-positive events in Berlin are either parties or workshops. SmutSlam Berlin does something else: it hands the mic to the community and asks for real stories about sex, desire and all the chaos in between.
With Double Whammy the format gets a one-night festival upgrade at Crack Bellmer. Two curated smut slams in one evening, plus a pop-up market in the bar area that turns RAW-Gelände's queer brick bunker into a small, very nerdy carnival of smut.
What SmutSlam Berlin Actually Is
SmutSlam calls itself a community dirty storytelling event. In practice that means true-life sex stories on a mic, told for a listening crowd rather than for the algorithm.
Double Whammy is an Edinburgh Fringe preview: two one-hour slams in the club room, built entirely around "fuckbucket" prompts instead of open audience sign-ups. The focus is on pace and craft. You get a concentrated version of the format before it travels on tour.
The Kind of Space This Is
SmutSlam Berlin is very explicit about who is welcome. The event describes itself as queer-friendly, kink- and vanilla-friendly, fat-friendly, sex-work-friendly, poly-friendly and open to people with all kinds of sexual experience, including "not much yet".
Just as clearly, there are hard lines. No racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism or any other form of hate. No stories about non-consensual acts. No fetishization of people who did not agree to be turned into a fantasy. Everything on the mic has to be about consensual encounters, wanted thoughts or the honest mess around them.
SmutSlam has a written Code of Conduct and treats it as part of the show, not small print: hosts, volunteers and audience are all expected to help maintain the safer-space frame.
Who Is Behind SmutSlam Berlin
The format was created by Cameryn Moore, a playwright, sex educator, activist and former phone sex worker. In Berlin, SmutSlam has been running in different venues for years and has settled at Crack Bellmer as a regular home for themed nights and special editions.
When Cameryn is not hosting or touring, she writes "Sidewalk Smut": custom erotica typed on the street for whoever sits down and asks for a story, blending performance art, sex education and micro-publishing in one practice.
Double Whammy sits right in that lineage: sex as spoken literature, with the awkwardness left in, curated tightly enough to travel to Fringe, but still clearly built from the community up.
Why SmutSlam Berlin Is on the Berlin Kink Calendar
The Berlin Kink Calendar is not only about play floors and dresscodes. It also maps the cultural infrastructure that makes safer, smarter sex possible: workshops, talks, and in this case, a storytelling night that treats smut as shared language rather than private browser tab.
Double Whammy is a good pick if you want to be around sex-positive people without having to get naked, hear how other adults narrate their kinks, confusions and crushes, and find artists and makers whose work fits your version of desire.
For a lot of Sex Searchers, this kind of evening is an important step. You get to test your own stories in your head, feel what resonates, and maybe realise that the things you thought were "too much" or "too weird" are exactly what someone else came to hear.
Before you mark your calendar: always double-check dates, location, and ticket info directly with the organizers.
Even the best promises come with fine print.
