"Nine years ago, I picked up a rope. Since then, it has changed my life. On July 17 in Berlin, I invite you into that world. 9 feels like a special number to me a cycle comes full circle. An evening of Shibari, performance, music, beauty, and human connection."

Nine years is a long time to dedicate yourself to one practice. For Marie Sauvage, Shibari artist, rigger, and creator of total sensory universes it is also exactly long enough to know what rope does to people.

Not what most imagine. Not spectacle, not shock. What rope actually does: it makes you drop into your body. Completely. In a world of permanent distraction and low-grade anxiety, that is rarer than it sounds.

"You don't realize how much you are controlling your body and your emotions twenty-four seven."

On July 17, Marie brings her practice to Berlin for an evening that is equal parts performance, immersive experience, and communal ritual. The space is Kühlhaus in Kreuzberg. The atmosphere will be what she always builds: specific scents, warm light, ambient and electronic music from a live DJ, people watching Shibari or being tied, dancing, connecting.

Marie trained under Shibari masters Haijme Kinoko and Ren Yagami, performed in front of hundreds of people across America, and has held her salon in a castle built by the Sun King. She does not make ordinary evenings.

What to Expect

Live Shibari performance. The possibility to be tied. Music. A consent-aware space with clear guidelines and an awareness person on site. A room full of people who came to feel something.

The event is open to all genders, queer and LGBTQIA+ inclusive, kink-friendly, and welcoming to beginners. Groups, singles, and couples are all welcome.

Dresscode: expressive. Latex, leather, lingerie, soft, nude or simply whatever makes you feel like yourself.
